We understand that in some cases very little is known about the progress we have made, so we have decided to give everyone the chance to check this page on a regular basis to see where we are.
Weather Station
We have bought a top of the range Weather Station inconjuction with Barmouth Town Council and Gwynedd County Council, and it will be placed on the Harbour Masters Office on the Harbour.
This new Precision Weather Station is the ultimate in weather monitoring, with coverage of Baromic Pressure, Humidity and Dew Point, Rainfall, Temperature, Apparant Temperature Index, Wind Speed and Direction, Wind Chill, UV Radiation and Solar Radiation.
This will be linked to our webpage to give the most accurate readings possible for this area all year round. It is do to be connected and on-line at the beginning of the New Year.
Green Gym
We are looking into the possibility of forming a "Green Gym Fitness Trail" along the Promenade, that will go from one end to another. This will include small outdoor fitness equipment suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness requirements. This is in the very early stages, but hopefully it will prove to be popular and viable for us to continue. If you have any comments on this, or information that may help, then please let us know.
Awards
We are pleased to say that we have recieved a voluntary award from the Welsh Council For Voluntary Action and were presented with this in front of our well loved Dolphin Water Feature. It is an honour to be given this award, nominated by Kevin Chambers, and we hope to keep improving the town for many more years to come.

Barmouth Station
We have decided to use some of the money from the Centenary Draws to go towards improving the Railway Station in Barmouth. This is an important point for those visiting us by train, or passing through, and we hope to add a little sparkle and beauty to this old and historic area.
In the New Year we hope to start planting for the spring here, as well as add pots, plants, hanging baskets and more benches.
The Palm Trees have now been removed for their winter break and will be placed back on the Promenade before Easter.
"Walkabout"
We were invited on a "Walkabout" around Barmouth by Peter Simpson, the Project Manager for "A Quality Environment". Along with us were representatives from Gwynedd County Council, Barmouth Town Council, North Wales Police, Keep Wales Tidy and Communities First.
The aim was to highlight areas that needed attention and improving, and the "walkabout" gave us the opportunity to show him the areas of neglect, and places that were in need of immediate attention, and those places that would benefit from a long term strategy.
Overall it was a succesfull afternoon and we have already seen the benefits of this co-operation. The area around the Bottle Banks has been attended to and it does look better. Also the Railway Bridge at the Harbour, that is looking old, rusty and bland will be having a facelift in the next 12-18months. We are in constent dialogue with Peter and hopefully together, we can continue with many minor improvements in the town.
Nothing further has come from this at the moment, but we hope to be a part of the process if they return.
Volunteers
If you would like to help on some of the projects or in general, please go to Dave Morris at L & L DIY Centre in Barmouth, where you can be put in his little book for when the big work begins.
