| Planned Projects We have may projects of varying sizes that we wish to complete in the near future. Some will be done quicker than others and some may need a little more time to get right. None of our projects will be undertaken without the proper consultation with local governing bodies or without the support of the local community. This is very important to us. The list below includes some projects where plans are already in place and some that will need further examination and time. If you have any suggestions or recommendations that will help us, then please go to CONTACT US icon on the left and share your wisdom. We are always open to the voices of the town and all opinions are more than welcome. The Bench Project After the success of the Palm Tree Project, it is clear that we must continue in the same way to keep improving the Promenade. We are at present looking into putting benches between the Palm Trees. We are looking at many options, as there are many things to consider when choosing them, and should be ready in the near future to put these up for sponsorship. We have decided to use the same principles as the Palm Tree Project and can offer these at £500 for 5 years, with the maintenance and siting etc done by us. Again this is an opportunity to support us, and the town, and contribute to an on-going and wonderful cause. Welcome to Barmouth Approach Higher standard of signage with new dramatic planting scheme, landscaping and welcoming Palm Trees. This should give much better impact to it, and tie in with the other work around the town.
Illumination of Barmouth Bridge Subtle style lighting on the arched section. This will be visible from both sides of the bridge and should enhance this much loved local landmark. The lighting itself would be Architectural lighting that would pick out the structure of Barmouth Bridge without creating a large pool of light in the area. Also we would consider solar power, wind power or tidal power to offset the argument about burning fuel that would be costly to the community and ecologically unfriendly.
Talbot Square Soft subtle illumination of the trees to show of the beautiful and impressive trees in white for visual impact in the late evenings and to compliment the work already done in recent years.
The Promenade Gardens Regeneration of existing area with vast improvements and working water feature. Enlivening the current flower beds and improving the overall feel creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with seating. It is quite possible that complete regeneration and rejuvination may take place in the future depending on the amount we can get through grants and funding. This may be done with the assistance of Barmouth in Bloom to get the best possible funding options available us to, or may be further developed by them alone. We will of course, continue to pursue any options that become available to improve this wonderful area.
Barmouth Station We hope to add benches, pots, planters, hanging baskets, and many more. We want the improve this area through beautification and increase the pleasure for waiting travellers. We also hope to include local chldren in creating a mural that they design, along the length of the platform. The work will hopefully be started in May/June with seasonal plants being introduced all year round. | |
